α,β-Unsaturated ketones and aldehydes have been synthesized from their corresponding silyl enol ethers in a straightforward protocol involving a visible-light promoted organocatalytic, aerobic oxidation reaction. A cheap organic dye was used catalytically in these reactions as the photosensitizer.

AgOTf-catalyzed one-pot reactions of 2-alkynylbenzaldoximes with various α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds under mild conditions are described, which provides a facile and efficient pathway for the synthesis of 1-alkylated isoquinoline derivatives. The method tolerates a wide range of substrates and allows for the preparation of the products of interest in moderate to excellent yields.

< p>In this communication, we have reported that the Pd(OAc)2–Et3SiH-DMF system promotes the microwave-assisted chemoselective reduction of aryl α,β-unsaturated esters in good yields. The protocol affords a convenient reduction of aryl-conjugated double bonds even in presence of other functional groups like esters, phenols, and ethers.
